This species is well adapted to warm climates and is suitable for both edible landscaping and as a decorative specimen in gardens.

Garcinia livingstonei is a small to medium-sized tree or large shrub that typically grows between 6 to 20 feet tall, although in ideal conditions it can reach up to 30 feet. It has a rounded canopy, multiple branches, and smooth gray to brown bark. The leaves are thick, leathery, and dark green with a glossy surface.
